Ordering Software and Peripherals

Certain Microsoft programs are provided at minimal or no charge to UT faculty, students and staff in accordance with the University's Microsoft Campus Agreement. These include:

  • Microsoft Windows (upgrade only; you must already have a copy of Windows on your computer - or purchase an initial copy of Windows - in order to take advantage of the upgrade);
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Windows or Macintosh version - includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access plus either Outlook for Windows or Entourage for the Mac);
  • Microsoft Office FrontPage;
  • Microsoft Office Publisher; and
  • Microsoft Visual Studio .NET

Antivirus software (currently McAfee) for the Windows platform is also provided at no charge to University employees and students.

These software products can be obtained through your Department LAN Manager, or purchased from the University Bookstore, located in the basement of the Medical School Building.

All other licensed software and computer peripherals (including printers, scanners, PDAs, etc.) must be obtained and installed by your LAN Manager. Many software packages can be purchased at special Education or Government discount rates; see your LAN Manager for details.
