Neuroanatomy of Bipolar Disorder Study
In this study, specialists will monitor changes in the brain that may occur when individuals affected with bipolar disorder are treated with a mood-stabilizing medication. Participants will be treated and monitored over the course of 16 weeks, during which time they will undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) scans. The results of this study will allow researchers and physicians to better understand how these medications help individuals with mood disorders, which will lead to improvements in treatment methods.
