Bipolar I Depression Uridine Trial
This is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, phase II trial to assess the safety and efficacy of a new medication for bipolar I depression. Participants in the study are currently-depressed patients who have bipolar disorder type I. These participants are administered safe amounts of the study drug throughout an eight week period, while their symptoms and well-being are carefully monitored. This study represents an important effort to find drugs that effectively treat bipolar disorder with few side-effects.
