Components of the Center


The UT Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders consists of three components:

The Mood Disorders Clinic:

The Mood Disorders Clinic is made up of two parts: the Treatment Research Clinic, which conducts studies of promising new treatments, and the Mood Disorders Specialty Clinic, which carries out consultation, comprehensive evaluations, and treatment of referred patients. The Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory

The Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory conducts psychobiological studies in collaboration with the UT Psychiatry Center for Research on Addictive Disorders, as well as neuroimaging and neurophysiological studies in mood disorders and related conditions.

The Mood Disorders Unit at UT-HCPC

The Mood Disorders Unit at UT-Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC) conducts inpatient treatment of patients with severe mood disorders. The Unit interacts with other components of the Center, conducting treatment and neurobehavioral studies, along with extensive teaching activities.
