This year, our residents will return to the Mind Games Finals at the 2013 APA Annual Convention to defend their championship title. This year's residents, Marsal Sanches, M.D., Garima Arora, M.D. and Ashley Toutounchi, M.D. will go up against Cornell and UCLA.

UT Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders
Under the co-direction of Jair C. Soares, M.D., and Alan Swann, M.D., the UT Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders focuses on the search for the causes and the development of new treatments for these severe mental illnesses. It is comprised of an active research team who specialize in clinical neurosciences (neuroimaging, neurophysiology, cognitive neurosciences, and genetics), as well as clinical psychopharmacology and interventions research.
Education
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences enhances the education of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students and trainees by providing an excellent variety of clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatients settings.

Research
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences faculty are at the forefront of research into the causes and treatments of mental illness, from the investigation of basic biological mechanisms to the development of new treatment methods.
