If you decide to change the poster to another dimension after you have already created your poster, it will incorrectly stretch or squeeze the .png file of the logo.
For sizes smaller than 48x54 inches, set up your page to the actual size of your poster.

Enter Page Setup information to view your format correctly:

PowerPoint Page Setup: From this table enter 'Page Setup' information using the 'Height & Width' table to the left.

Add the following to your PowerPoint Expertise:

  • Backgrounds: For best readability use a white, or other light color background, and contrast black or other dark text against it.
  • Fonts: For best readability use Arial, Helvetica or Times Roman.
  • Photographic Images: Exporting (or "save as") from programs such as PhotoShop, CorelDraw, etc. as JPEG (.jpg) at 200 TO 300 DPI will preserve resolution as your image file "expands" to its final size. Watch for this: It will come into PowerPoint BIG but just size it to fit your layout after you're in there.
  • Cut and Paste: Works for importing text boxes from Word. However, it does NOT work reliably for importing images.
  • Windows Metafile (.wmf) is the file format of choice when saving charts and graphs created in other software. It is a good idea to check that the software in which you are planning to create charts or graphs has the ability to save or export your finished work in the .wmf format. BEST: Build them in PowerPoint.

Save your completed PowerPoint image (file) in the same manner that you would save any individual slide - as a .ppt. This is virtually automatic in PowerPoint. PowerPoint has limitations. A proof is REQUIRED.

Always Remember, Communications can quickly and inexpensively Design and Produce Displays and Posters for you in high-end software that allows Photographic and Design treatments not feasible in PowerPoint.
