The Office of Research Affairs now approves visiting international student appointments. A visiting student is defined as a scholar/predoctoral candidate currently enrolled in a degree program at their home institution who wishes to visit the University of Texas Medical School to conduct independent research, usually in preparation of their doctoral dissertations.
Departments interested in sponsoring a visiting international graduate student can request an appointment by (1) contacting the Office of International Affairs to obtain a written visa status advisory. This advisory can be in the form of an e-mail or written letter.
