The Graduate Student Education Committee seeks to raise the level of awareness of graduate education at the Medical School with the goal of contributing to the long range development of the student and ultimately, the early career researcher.

In conjunction with the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Committee fosters and encourages the creation of educational opportunities and the strengthening of social networks through the following programs:

Dean’s Research Awards—Scholarships established to recognize GSBS students who have successfully advanced to Ph.D. candidacy and have achieved distinction in biomedical research.

Travel Awards - Monetary assistance to help offset the cost of attending professional conferences/meetings

Career Development Activities– Seminars in academia, industry and entrepreneurial career choices.

Graduate Student Research Poster Competition—Opportunity to present current research and to gain

invaluable presentation skills

Support for GSBS Programs in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Neuroscience, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Cell and Regulatory Biology.
