In 1973 the wives of the
new faculty formed a group dedicated to fostering a sense of community
among its growing membership and to finding ways to assist medical
students. The Faculty Wives and Women Faculty established the
Doris Simon Scholarship Fund to ensure that medical students
with true financial need are able to continue the medical education
and training required of those who chose to serve our communities.
The Organization also makes an award to a medical student to defray
travel costs during residency interview season in the 4th year
of medical school.
Camaraderie is an essential goal of our organization
and monthly events are planned featuring a variety of activities.

Supporting our Medical
Students
Without private support, many students
are challenged to balance the time commitment to their studies
with the responsibilities of personal and in many cases, family
needs. By supporting the Faculty Wives and Women Faculty
Doris Simon Scholarship Fund, you can help ensure that medical
students with true financial need are able to continue the medical
education and training required of those who chose to serve our
communities. The Organization also makes an award to a medical
student to defray travel costs during residency interview season
in the 4th year of medical school.
