Artist: Charles Lewis

Charles P. Lewis, a second-year medical student, grew up in Dallas before coming to Houston to attend Rice University as an undergraduate, where he majored in psychology. He has experimented with photography for several years, although he has never taken any formal classes or lessons. Most of his photographs are taken while traveling, many in the vicinity of South Fork, Colorado, where he escapes about once a year for a week of hiking and fly-fishing. Among Charles' favorite subjects are landscapes in unusual lighting conditions, as seen in the three photographs displayed here. He looks forward to continuing travel and photography as much-needed diversions from academic and medical life.
